Behind the Wildflowers Collection

The SS21 'Wildflowers' collection is a deeply personal one, connecting wistful childhood memories with the contemporary designer and celebrates new beginnings, the power of Mother Nature and the feeling of freedom that comes with spending time in the great outdoors.

The Inspiration

The SS21 collection was designed and developed during the height of the first UK pandemic lockdown and soon after Pia discovered she was pregnant for the first time. Sheltering in place away from her family combined with the excitement of becoming a mother left Pia feeling nostalgic the long summer days she spent playing in lush gardens of her childhood or the country walks she and her family used to take together, picking wildflowers and completely immersing themselves in nature.

Pia channeled her wistful memories with her excitement for new beginnings to create a collection that perfectly encapsulates the spring/summer season.

SEASONAL EMBROIDERIES

Each season Pia sketches new embroidery designs by hand, creating a story for each range featured within the collection. To capture the beauty of nature, Pia drew inspiration from her mother's books of botanical illustrations, sketching an array of British wildflowers in fresh and vibrant colours.

In addition to the botanical embroidery, Pia also created a Broderie Anglaise design, inspired by greenhouses and the traditional dresses she loved to wear as a child.

After sketching by hand, the designs were developed into digital files and sent off to be stitched by machine, creating a beautifully unique fabric, exclusive to Studio Pia.

The Shoot

Taking place at 63 Sun Studio, the photoshoot incorporates plenty of natural daylight, evoking clear skies and warmer days.

Our signature Clea styles have been refreshed in soft blue, contrasting against bold cut-outs and statement hardware for a look that's sure to command attention and capture the imagination.

Petra "Rock of Aphrodite"

Sleek and structured styles feature hidden support panels, fully lined in sumptuous peace silk satin to accentuate your curves, enveloping the body in fully silk-lined luxury — too good to hide.

Flora "Flower"

An immersive love letter to mother nature. Embroidered tulle panels cover and reveal to lightly enhance the curves and are trimmed with sumptuous Ivory peace silk satin for added luxe.

Cerelia "Of the Springtime"

A reimagining of our coveted Adria range, with a fresh botanical twist. Our signature striking shapes and lush green silk is paired with bespoke embroidery that draws inspiration from Pia's mother's books of botanical illustrations, evoking the feeling of verdant gardens in bloom.

Aurora "Dawn"

Playful shapes are crafted from sumptuous ivory peace silk and luxuriously soft recycled tulle, enveloping your body in a Broderie Anglaise design, embroidered from recycled yarns. Combining ethics with design, the Aurora range truly embodies our mission to create luxury lingerie with a conscience.
